Five couples decided that their children were old enough to stay up on
New Year’s Eve to watch the ball fall and celebrate the coming of the
new year. The kids were very excited and fully enjoyed the special
treat, especially the delayed bedtime!
Louise’s five sons love computer games and playing with their friends
online. Each played with five to seven other boys and the great thing
about the World Wide Web was that none of their gaming friends were
within easy driving distance to them. Many of them even lived in other
countries...
Each year during the holiday season, many of the local charity groups
sponsor annual events to raise money. Each event always has a bake
table for sweet treats of many varieties available for sale. The
bakery goods sold are donated by many of the generous people in the
town who support these charitable groups...

Sam and three of his friends attended a poetry reading last night at
the town library. The poetry reading hosted four different local poets
and each read several of their poems. Sam and his friends enjoyed the
evening and all agreed that they’d like to do it again. Each had a
favorite poem from the evening and here they differed...
Last Saturday night, the After Midnight club held their annual
Halloween Costume party from 7pm ‘til midnight. A very popular club,
the party was well attended and some of the costumes were fabulous.
The club held a costume contest with previously-selected judges who
strolled through the guests during much of the evening judging
costumes...
Four couples spent the weekend at the Millersville County Fair. It’s
one of the largest fairs in the area and is very well attended. A true
country fair with all of the animals, food, and competitions, the
Millersville County Fair also encompasses craft show and home show
vendors, live music every night, and many other attractions...
Five prominent farmers from the surrounding area had animals in the
fair competition during the Millersville County Fair last weekend.
Each farmer had a prized animal in one of the competition classes and
each animal won a ribbon. While some of the animals won the same
ribbon, each animal was in a different competition...
School starts in Millersville right at the beginning of September.
This year, the residents of Forest Street each have a child starting a
new grade. The interesting part is that no one on Forest Street is
starting in the same grade. Several of the kids have parents that get
very excited over a new school year and feel compelled to take
pictures of their children on the first day...
Summer is almost over. School starts next week, and so five families
decide to squeeze in one more summer holiday before school starts.
Each family chose to travel to Cape Cod, Massachusetts and spent the
week renting a summer cottage, each in a different town. By some odd
twist of fate, each family had either five or six family members and
stayed on Cape Cod for either five or six days...
Marcia’s mother let her invite five friends over for a slumber party
on Saturday night. She was so excited! She hadn’t had a slumber party
since her birthday last year and it was going to be so much fun. The
girls were due over at 7pm and their parents would pick them up again
after lunch on Sunday...
The youth group from a local church in Millersville held a fund-raiser
for a local charity group last weekend. Each participating youth
collected sponsors for their performance in a “rock-a-thon”. On
Saturday night, the rock-a-thon took place – each youth had pledged to
spend the night rocking in a rocking chair...
Sally Field loves art. Her home is filled with the works of countless
artisans, both well-known and relatively obscure. She haunts art shows
and even craft shows, always on the lookout for a new piece or
portrait for her home. To her intense pleasure, she struck a gold mine
last Saturday, attending a new art show in a neighboring town...
During their daily commute to work, five people listen to fiction
audio books. Each one prefers a different genre. Due to the
constraints of their cars, they listen to the books in a variety of
ways – on cassette tape, CD, even iPod®! They all find that listening
to audio books immensely improves their daily commute by reducing
stress and giving them true enjoyment during the trip while still
feeling like they’re doing something productive, instead of just
wasting time while they sit in traffic...
Five outstanding seniors graduated from the Millersville High School
last weekend. Each of the five was in the top twelve students of the
Class of 2009 and each also won a special academic award in a
particular subject. Five very proud parents watched their children
receive both awards and high school degree that sunny Saturday
morning...
Jerry and four friends spent yesterday afternoon playing miniature
golf. It was a gorgeous day and the five friends had a great time. Par
for the course was 42 and all of them had decent scores at the end of
the course. Each one also got a hole-in-one at a different hole in the
18-hole course...
Next Saturday is Senior Prom
Night for the Millersville High School. This
always-anticipated event has had the student gossip buzzing
all week. While many of the couples going were no surprise,
as they’d been dating awhile, some couples would make the
Senior Prom their first date.
Senior Prom Night was last
night and the event was an enjoyable evening for all who
participated. The meal was deemed delicious and the disc
jockey played an excellent selection of music, keeping the
dance floor packed throughout the evening...
At Gadgets Corporation, there are currently five new projects in
development. Each project has a weekly meeting for the project leads
to discuss potential issues and schedule changes. To make it easier,
each of these projects uses a single code word for a project name. As
it happens, each weekly project meeting is held on a different day and
at a different time...
Five girls made fudge after school this week. Each girl made fudge on
a different day and each had a little sister who insisted that she
must help. Although each girl made a basic chocolate fudge, they all
decided that plain fudge was boring. So, each decided to add a
different nut to their fudge, to make it more interesting...
