Annual Mind Games® competition, run by American
Mensa, was held on April 24-26 in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky. It's a
national event in which American Mensans get together to play and rate
the latest board and card games over one spring weekend. Game
manufacturers enter their newest products in pursuit of the Mensa
Select® seal — proof that the most avid game-players in the country
have judged their games to be the best.
This year more than 230 players reviewed 43 game entries. And the five
winners are:
- Cornerstone (designed by by Matt Mette and Mike Thompson, published
by
Good Company Games).
- Dominion (designed by Donald X. Vaccarino, published by
Rio Grande Games).
- Marrakech (designed by Dominique Ehrhard, published by
Fundex Games).
- Stratum (designed by by José L. Navas, published by
Family Games).
- Tic-Tac-Ku (designer not credited, published by
ColorKu).
Next year's Mind Games® will be held April 16-18, 2010 at the San
Diego Hilton Mission Valley, San Diego, CA. |
