Four winning designers, five selected puzzles and six awarded prizes -
all are the results of this year's Nob Yoshigahara Puzzle Design
Competition which took place in conjunction with IPP27, this August in
Gold Coast, Australia.
55 puzzles (one more than previous year) entered this year's
Competition which goal remained intact - to promote and recognize
innovative new designs of mechanical puzzles.
Puzzlers' Award and Jury First Prize both went to a two-piece Cast
Loop puzzle by Vesa Timonen. Jury Grand Prize went to Void Cube
by Katsuhiko Okamoto. One Honorable Mention went to Tornado Burr
by Junichi Yananose and simultaneously two Honorable Mentions - to
Forest Puzzle and Switched Maze, both by Kirill Grebnev.
