Count Trick after Martin Gardner Show this trick to your friend to see his/her ability to perform quick calculations. You should demonstrate it in such a way. Click on the upper piece of paper and you will reveal the first top figure written on the lower piece of paper. Your friend should say this number aloud. Click on the upper piece of paper again and again revealing one number at a time, and ask your friend to add all the numbers as you go along, and say aloud every next sum. When you come to the words "Check yourself" click them and the message box will appear. Let your friend read it and then propose him/her to recount the final sum. To obtain the correct sum the use of a calculator may be very helpful. Is there something unexpected in the first and the second results?
