The Dovetailed Block

It is said that this cube consists of two solid blocks of wood securely dovetailed together. On the other two vertical sides of the cube that are not visible the pattern is exactly the same as on the the two visible vertical sides. Can you imagine two solid blocks that can be easily dovetailed together into a cube and the way how it can be done?
