Four friends participated in July’s day camp program this summer.
Their parents would drop them off at the lakefront each morning and
pick them up at suppertime each evening. The morning activity was a
water sport of their choice and then the afternoon activity was a
different non-water sport of their choice. As it happened, the friends
all chose different activities during the day, though they still saw
each other during lunch...
Sally is terribly confused. It’s her first day of high school and
she’s feeling very overwhelmed. Moving from class to class had seemed
easy yesterday during freshman orientation with kids on every corner
to help direct her. Now, the hallways were full of kids rushing
around, yelling to each other and distracting her with the exuberance.
With no willing students to help direct her, she’d gotten lost twice
already and it wasn’t even lunchtime yet. To top off her problems,
she’d dropped her notebook and now had to scramble to get everything
together again. She needs your help to get her class schedule straight
now...

possibly eat, they needed to find ways to use them up. So each friend

yummy recipes there are for apples!). As it happens, each friend did
such a good job making one recipe, that it was forever after their
specialty. Fortunately for them, each one had a different specialty...

Steven is a big motorcycle enthusiast and travels all over the country
to attend motorcycle rallies. This past weekend, there was a large one
in Indiana that he and three friends attended. Since each of them was
coming from a different location in the United States, they made plans
to meet at the rally the day before it started, so they’d have a
little extra time to visit together. Steven was the first to arrive,
he checked into the hotel and settled down at the local diner, which
is where they all agreed to meet, to wait for the rest. He didn’t beat
any of them by much, and they had a great lunch together while
catching up on each other’s latest news...
Baseball season has begun! Already five teams are showing real promise
for having a great season this year. Both fans and analysts are
already speculating how well these teams will do. However, a couple of
the teams had a bumpy week - one team had some pitching problems and
lost more games than they won. Another team played the most games
during the week because they ended up playing a double-header (two
games in one day against the same team) to make up for an earlier game
that was rained out, but they did have the home team advantage for the
two games...
There’s a big jar in Mr. Elliot’s Sweet Ecstasy candy shop, in
downtown Millersville. The jar is filled to bursting with M&Ms in a
rainbow of colors. There’s a small sign before the jar which reads,
“Take a guess! The one closest to the number of M&Ms in the jar by
Saturday night wins the whole jarful!” His jar of M&Ms has been the
